What support is there for volunteers?

The BHA has set up several mechanisms to support these volunteers:

• There is a staff member who runs the project and supports the volunteers with advice and resources. 
• There is a guidance pack which is sent to each volunteer containing a handbook and contact information for other volunteers, local authorities and local humanist groups.  
• There is an eforum for volunteers to discuss issues with each other and share best practice.
• There were five training workshops covering equality issues and communication skills.
• In addition, there will soon be ten regional representatives who coordinate work at a local level.
