A C Grayling: "Darwin and the Darwinian Controversy"

A lecture organized by the British Humanist Association, Chaired by Professor John Harris

A C GraylingA. C. Grayling will address the controversy surrounding Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, followed by questions. The event will be chaired by John Harris, professor of Bioethics at the University of Manchester and member of the Humanist Philosophers.

Anthony Grayling is Professor of Philosophy at Birkbeck College, University of London. He is a member of the International Humanist and Ethical Union's delegation to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and a distinguished supporter of the British Humanist Association. He has been a Guardian columnist and written for The Times, the Financial Times, Observer, Independent on Sunday, Economist, Literary Review, New Statesman and Prospect. Participating regularly in radio and television discussions, Anthony Grayling is one of Britain's best known intellectuals.

Tickets are £7 (£5 for members of the British Humanist Association or Greater Manchester Humanists) and can be purchased from www.humanism.org.uk/shop/tickets or by credit or debit card by telephoning 020 7079 3580.

Please note: We will despatch tickets no sooner than four weeks prior to the event. But please do book early to avoid disappointment.

The lecture will be preceded by two optional events organised by the affiliated local group, Greater Manchester Humanists. There is a guided tour of the Darwin exhibition at Manchester Museum from 3pm and an optional buffet in Cafe Muse from 5pm. There is no charge for the tour, but advance booking is required.
