| Start time | 14:00 |

The London for a Secular Europe demonstration is meeting on 14th February at 2pm outside the Natural History Museum, where the biggest ever Charles Darwin exhibition commemorates his bicentenary. Then a march through Hyde Park, towards the Italian Embassay in Grosvenor Square.
This is a demonstration to protect democracy and to champion human rights against the religious organisations who wish to retain undemocratic influence and privilege.
This demo will be in solidarity with the "NO VAT" (i.e. NO VATICAN) demonstration happening at the same time in Rome against the Vatican and its intervention in Italian, European and world-wide politics.
What does the protest stand for?
Promote:
- real gender equality and women's rights
- the full citizenship of LGBT people in all the European Union
- the decriminalisation of homosexuality worldwide
- a secular European Union - immune to the Christian political agenda
Reject:
- the commitment of the EU to religious organisations (Lisbon treaty art. 16c)
- the special status of the Vatican in the United Nations
- state-funded faiths chools in the United Kingtdom
- the economic privilege and political influence of the Vatican in Italy
