Renewals
Unless you have set up a Direct Debit or a Standing Order, all members will be sent a renewal notice a month before their renewal is due. If we have an email for you it will arrive first by email, otherwise as a letter. It will be followed by reminder letters.
The renewal letter contains instructions on a number of different ways you can renew.
"I think I should have had a renewal letter by now..."
If you feel that you should have received a renewal letter and you haven't, then get in touch by email or phone 020 7079 3580.
Renew online
To renew online you need the username and password for your membership profile. Do not register again on the site if you are already a member.
"I haven't got a login." Members should have received a username and password from us by email when this website went live, or by post when your membership comes up for renewal. If you think you should have received your membership login by now, you can still get your login details.
To renew online simply:
|
1. Enter your username and password into the "BHA login" box at the top of the right hand sidebar down the side of this site and click the red "LOGIN" button. |
2. The screen will refresh. You should now see a link called "My Profile" near your name in the top of the sidebar. Click this to see your profile. |

3. If your renewal date is within the next month, or has already passed, then you will see a large blue box at the top of the screen informing you of the renewal date and with a link to renew your membership.

If your membership is not yet due you can still renew in advance by visiting www.humanism.org.uk/my-profile/renew once you are logged in.
Once you've clicked one of these links, the subsequent renewal pages are accessible only if you are logged in as a member. You'll be taken to a screen which allows you to check your subscription rate and then pay for membership.
Renew by Direct Debit
This is the best way to renew because once it's set up you don't need to manually renew again; it minimises our administration as well as your own.
Soon you'll be able to set up Direct Debit via this website, making it even easier. However for the moment we need you to fill out and return this simple form:
![]() |
Membership Renewal Direct Debit Form (PDF) It is 2 pages; you can print it back to back on one sheet of paper or return on 2 seperate pages if that's easier, to: Renewals, 1 Gower Street, London, WC1E 6HD |
(We cannot accept emailed scans of this form. Until we have set up paperless Direct Debit via the website we do need the signed hard copy to pass which we'll pass on to the bank.)
Renew by cheque or postal order
Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to British Humanist Association and sent to 1 Gower Street, London, WC1E 6HD.
Obviously we need to be able to identify you to renew your membership, so please include your name (especially if your membership is in a different name from the one on the cheque), your postal address, and a way of contacting you like a phone number or email address.
Renew by credit or debit card
You can renew over the phone by calling our main office number on 020 7079 3580 during office hours where you will speak to a human being. (Out of hours you can leave a message and we will return your call.)
We can accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or Solo payments.
We do not use continuous payment authority for credit card subscriptions. To ensure that your subscription is paid automatically next year please use Direct Debit.
